Blaine Fischer, aka Bleeding Heart, is medic who's part of the Draywood Medical Heroes Association.
Career
As a member of the DMHA, Bleeding Heart is primarily tasked with both fixing heroes after battles, and treating civilians who get hurt. He also takes on smaller cases of more mundane natures, including treating multiple long term patients.
Most notable of which was Princess Delen Penrose, who later revealed herself to be the villain Princess Disaster. Bleeding Heart was treating the 'curse' caused by a Marked villain's attack that Penrose and several other of Bleeding Heart's patients had survived. The Mark's curse has since been completely cured.
Bleeding Heart has had significant success with merchandising, most notably a line of plushies of his image made by The Merchant. These toys come in both his standard hero outfit and limitedly available varients, appealing to both the broad market and collectors. Considering that the success of this toy line exceeds the popularity of Bleeding Heart himself, it's likely that many fans of the plushies are unaware that they are depictions of a real hero in the first place.[citation needed - speculation]
Abilities
Mark
Bleeding Heart has the mark Healer's Trade, which allows him to heal physical injuries someone sustains at the cost of recieving a lesser version of the same injury on himself (roughly lessened by half, although making that into a hard statistic is impossible due to the variety of injuries he has healed). Healing requires him to be touching the injured party, and for him to be conscious and concentrating. The mark doesn't cure diseases, and symptoms that can be treated by him are limited to damage to the body. [1] Furthermore, any objects that enter a body during injury will remain and be healed around if not removed.
Trivia
- Bleeding Heart is friends with minor hero Flash-Boom-Splody-Bang. According to her, they met when she was patched up after her first battle, saying "There was a lot of blood, it was crazy!"
- Bleeding Heart owns a cat named Butterscotch.
- Bleeding Heart has a fear of heights.
- Bleeding Heart fans call themselves "Heartthrobs". This term hasn't been used by Bleeding Heart himself for them, it's purely a fan chosen name.
| Notable Relationships | |
|---|---|
| Vincent Noble | Bleeding Heart is pretty worried about messing up around him. He can't help but worry that the fact the plan with Theseus didn't work that well reflects poorly on him. He doesn't want to disappoint his boss. |
| Valerie Ambrose | Valerie and Bleeding Heart turned out to both be jealous of each other the whole time. After sharing how he feels to her and hearing that she struggles with similar things, he and Valerie's relationship has gotten overall deeper. He appreciates her a lot for willing to do so much for him, even though he's been jealous of her. |
| Bone Doctor | Bleeding Heart considers Bone Doctor to be one of his best friends. He wants to help him out more than Bone Doctor would allow. He's so surprised that he means that much to him... |
| Arthur Quinn | Okay 🩷 yay 🩷
Arthur actually apologized! Bleeding Heart understands how tough that was for him, and he appreciates that he actually valued him more than his ego, at least a little. That being said, Blaine is going to put his foot down for better treatment this time! Probably! |
| Eye Guy | Bleeding Heart saw Eye Guy melt a human head with her mark and then casually banter with Sam like it was nothing. Can we really just go back to normal life? |
| Yúzé Astor | Bleeding Heart has agreed to help treat Yúzé in private. However, things have spiraled a bit out of hand, as he learned about Yúzé's duplicitous nature at the last meeting. He feels a little betrayed, all things considered, and isn't sure how to treat her going forward. |
| Midas | Bleeding Heart wants to be there for Sam. He knows that he needs it. He needs someone to care about him. |
| Remilia Knoxveil | Remilia has adopted Bleeding Heart as part of her found family and refers to him as her brother. He encourages this even if one of his friends things it's a bad idea. He doesn't call her sister as much as she calls him brother, though, it will take a while for him to fully get used to it. But he's relieved to be able to be family for her. He thinks she desperately needs love and kindness in her life, and is so happy that she's starting to realize that herself. |
| Ditto | Bleeding Heart tries to make sure he's always being mindful of Ditto's telepathy, and intentionally thinks of interesting things they would enjoy when he's nearby. He isn't bothered by her mind reading powers, as he understands it's both their job and something they can't really stop doing from the looks of it. In situations where his thoughts aren't as cheery and Ditto's around, he blames himself rather than Ditto for reading.
Struggles with the fact Ditto keeps asking for opium.🥺He's bad at turning down a friend. |
| Agent 69 | One of the few people on base Bleeding Heart doesn't like. He was willing to give the guy the benefit of the doubt until he continued to defend all the terrible things Villians Inc has done. Struck a bit of a nerve with Bleeding Heart, not helped by the fact Bleeding Heart was kinda shit at arguing his points in regards to that. Bleeding Heart refuses to answer his questions of the day due to worrying it's part of some scheme. |
| Skylar Beaumont | As someone with a rather nervous disposition and nerdy tendencies, Bleeding Heart feels a sense of kinship with Skylar. Since they're also a normal civilian, he's been doing his best to look out for them on base. He's surprised that they're a fan of his, considering that he doesn't really think of himself to be the type of hero people would ever follow, as he isn't involved in combat. He has no idea how deep the rabbit hole goes. |
| Theseus | Their first big time working together didn't exactly work well, and because of that Bleeding Heart has a chip on his shoulder about her. He's still bitter about the fact she used him to just scare Benji. He took it not only as a insult to Benji but to himself. He understands her reasoning... and he can tell that she really does care. But she does kill people that is a thing she does! And that's something he'll just never agree with! |
| Benjamin Dover-Cao | Bleeding Heart is now... torn about Benji. He took his injury so he could see his kid, and he doesn't regret it. He'll never regret helping someone who is hurt.
But... he was a little fond of Benji before. He had a soft spot for what good parent Benji seemed. It's hard to resolve that with the fact he's, well... not a good person. Maybe he's a kind person to those he loves but... well who isn't. |
| The Merchant | Bleeding Heart is still surprised by the plushies! He's been meaning to talk to her about business deals, but he hasn't got around to it. He wants to make sure he's getting what he's owed from the royal family with the plushies. |
| Georgy Joy | How could this have happened. |
| John Grey | Starlet against starlet. Bloodshed and violence coming from people he never expected. People following orders to kill without even batting an eye. You sure left with a bang John. You didn't deserve such horrible treatment. |
| Ayhan Solak | They were roommates. It's so empty now. Will it ever be the same, without her prayers each night? |
| Clockwork Owl, General Hiss, and DivineGoddess | Bleeding Heart shares a home on base with them. |

- ↑ Bleeding Heart has mentioned that, for example, he could cure a bloody nose caused by an illness, but not a runny nose. He's also stated that theoretically the more he researches how certain afflictions are caused, the more he could heal.
