The Draywood Medical Heroes Association, commonly referred to as the DMHA, is a Draywood healing organization specializing in treating humans. The organization was started by King Thomas I during his focus on public infrastructure, and continues to be funded by the Dray government.
The DMHA operates primarily as a paramedic service, going on the scene after villain attacks and other disasters. Its main patients are heroes and civilians, although its treated villians before with the caveat that justice will follow the healing process. It has locations in each of the Draywood Quarters, and while its main focus is as a paramedic institution it still operates emergency services on location for the public.
It specializes in mark-based healing, although not all its healers are marked. Medical experience and knowledge is not a requirement for DMHA healers, an aspect that its recieved criticism for.
As one of the largest first responders in Draywood, the DMHA is incredibly busy, especially in the more populated Quarters. It has a wide assortment of healers on all levels of the Tenet System.
Public Reception
The DMHA is considered a beloved part of Draywood, and a shining example of the good planning King Thomas I put into the city. It's appreciated by citizens and heroes alike, and has been praised for it's good balance when treating all types of patients.
DMHA healers are treated in the same manner that other heroes are, many having their own dedicated fanbases and merchandise.
However, the DMHA has been criticised in the past for their healers not requiring any medical expertise from various fringe Draywood doctors. In response, the DMHA has stated that this is not something it hides at all, and that the healers inform all patients of this fact before any non-immediate treatment. Additionally, its stated that the success rate of the DMHA's treatments is far higher than a normal hospital, so the lack of expertise hasn't materially caused problems.
Notable Members
- The DMHA's Director is Derek Ptor, one of the very first DMHA members. He has the mark Patient, Patient, Tell Me the News which allows him to know exactly what's wrong with a patient and how they need to be healed, so long as he makes physical contact with them.
- Flint Westwood is known for having the DMHA's strongest healing mark. Shot in the Arm lets them fully heal injuries by pointing a finger gun at the wounded party. They're rather dedicated to their theme, and are known for wearing a cowboy hat and tasseled labcoat.
- Genny Genson is often seen helping non-DMHA hospitals and even using her mark with non-medical work such as food service. Her mark is Land Sanitizer, which allows her to completely sterilize a radius around her.
- Valerie Ambrose is a healer with the mark Cloud Nine which allows her to control and manipulate clouds that heal the spots it touches, as well as making them feel good, eliminating any pain. Often makes casts for people with her clouds at the DMHA.
- Geoffrey 'Swampy' Mario is known for only tackling paramedic duties, and has the mark Where's the Leak, Ma'am that lets him stop things from "leaking", including people. He uses his mark to stop bleeding. Notable for the slight controversy regarding his employment, as he was previously known for causing large-scale pranks around Draywood.
- Bleeding Heart, also notable for his time treating Princess Delen Penrose, works as a DMHA healer. His mark is Healer's Trade which allows him to heal someone's injury in exchange for recieving half of it on himself. He's also known for being the face of a successful line of plushies.
- Gladys Tincture has the mark She Heals Me, She Heals Me Not that takes the form of a daisy on her arm with a different amount of petals per day. She can heal a person, but is limited by the amount of petals on her mark that day. She works closely with Bleeding Heart, saving the last petal she has of the day to treat any accumulated injuries he's taken.
- Known for her social media presence as a cosplayer, Sofia Rothschild is also a DMHA healer. Her mark is One-Legged Angel, which grants her the power to stop the symptoms of an illness so long as she's standing on one leg. She was responsible for the 'one-leg' quack video trend of 2078, where participants would see how long they could stand on one leg, and would donate money to the DMHA based on their time.
- Grant Smith is a healer who doesn't handle paramedic duties, staying at the DMHA Art Deco Quarter location. He's known for his mark Apple a Day Keeps the Healing at Bay, which makes his healing powers stronger the farther he is from any apples. Due to his mark, anyone brought to or arriving at the Art Deco Quarter DMHA location has have their belongings thoroughly checked for any apples or apple related products, jokingly referred to as "Apple TSA".
Notable Heroes Who Have Worked With the DMHA
- Bone Doctor

Trivia
- The DMHA has a yearly fundraiser event. Each year it's something slightly different in order to drum up interest. However, due to the events of CY-009 and the Penumbra's Parley Massacre, the 2080 fundraiser had to be cancelled, marking the first time it had been in 20 years.
- Many DMHA members volunteer at the Parks Quarter Community Center, however the two organizations are not intertwined.
