Mei Yuri is the current mayor of New Chiti and the youngest mayor the city has ever seen. She's known for her optimism, kindness, and dedication, juggling the measly budget between all the economic, structural, and social issues the city faces. In the past, New Chiti has been primarily under the control of gangs with only an incompetent figurehead as mayor, but Mei Yuri promises to change that. Or at least, have a smattering of successful public projects.

Mei wears multiple hats rather than hire staff and is often found doing hands-on work to fix roads and run food banks. It's an open secret that she's willing to work with gangs to get things done, but rather than a sign of corruption it's a sign of her sheer force of personality, that she's able to turn criminal groups into something more productive. Public opinion ranges from dismissing her idealist nature to respecting her work ethic and moral character.

Policies

Her main focus is on affordable quality housing, re-building the water system and electrical grid, and making sure the city doesn't fall apart. Mei avoids inter-city state politics except to act as a tiebreaker or if she can weasel something to benefit New Chiti out of it. She has a chitizen's eye for opportunity, after all!

Personal Life

Mei Yuri was raised by her grandfather and helped him take care of her many younger siblings. She got into Cybil University but only attended for a year, citing financial reasons, and a desire to focus on improving her city and spend time with family.
