The Gökada is a cult of Marked individuals, currently operating out of the Eclipse Range. The group was formed by Ayhan Solak and Theia Sonnhild, two dancers from Apopka Lights, in 2074.
Formation
The Gökada was formed by two Apopkan dancers, Ayhan Solak and Theia Sonnhild. The two gathered a major fanbase of Marked civilians, and began to pitch to them their religious ideas of revering the sun and moon. In 2074, the cult was officially formed, and moved themselves to a commune within the Eclipse Range, bringing all of their followers with them. Their current numbers are unknown, and estimates from missionaries vary wildly.
Activities and Beliefs
The Gökada believe in the reverence and worship of the sun and moon as religious figures, believed to grant the power of Marks to mankind and also influence fate. This is attributed mostly to the sun, due to the Flare, but the two are worshipped equally, due to the respective moon- and sun-influenced Marks of the cult's leaders, Solak and Sonnhild. The cult only accepts Marked people as its members, though Unmarked people are welcome to hold the same beliefs. The cult is currently in a state of mourning, due to the Moon Detonation Incident, believing one of their religious figures to have been unceremoniously martyred.
Activity outside of the commune since this incident has spiked. Prior to this incident, the Gökada had very few missionaries, mostly distributing literature to towns and cities from their remote location. However, since the destruction of the moon, missionaries have become more common all across The Land, urging other Marked civilians to join them to mourn the moon and utilise their worship to help it regain its power. This has been noted especially in the Republic of Randwell, where citizens have often claimed to urge Randwellians to 'atone for the sins of their government' (presumably in reference to the Moon Detonation Incident or the presence of the Lunaris Interstellar Research Center in general, though this has not been confirmed).
It is unknown how the Gökada function at its central commune, though rumours of sacrificial deaths and extreme nocturnal lifestyles have surfaced in association with the cult, and little information about their daily practices or leaders has been relayed outside of the commune. Missionaries all wear a signature bracelet, made of dark leather and moonstone, which they have confirmed is worn as part of their belief system.
Whereabouts
The cult has a commune at Lodestar Peak, utilising both the mountain and its nearby valley, within the Eclipse Range. The cult are entirely self-sufficient, and, according to missionaries, live comfortable and self-actualised lives. The cult makes no attempts to hide their location, and in fact actively encourage visitors and converts through their missionaries. Few reports have come back about the current state of affairs at the commune.
