Elaine Macroft was a philosopher and founder of Draywood. She was a firm believer of maintaining a balance between man and nature. She protested her wife Cybil Anthony Macroft’s desires to clear more space for their townspeople, citing the extent of disruption it would cause the animals and ecosystem for a meager amount of comfort. Elaine made sure to counter Cybil’s beliefs, rebutting her claims both publicly and domestically. When Cybil declared their separation Elaine designated the line that separated her side of the town from her own. She pushed for conservation and an exploration of the arts, in contrast to the more logical-oriented mindset of their counterpart.

She wrote a book on her ex-wife and it sold very well.

Trivia

• Elaine and Cybil have the exact same death date. Both women sought to outlive the other and refused to die until the other one did. Their communities collectively agreed behind the women's backs to lie to their respective founders simultaneously so that they would finally move on. Their times of death were never recorded outside of the date they both passed.
